Welcome to the Cloudroom House - a music experience for everyone to join and share. The Cloudroom House is not just an album - it's a song cycle which aims for wholeness and therefore challenges you to complete it with your attention. By giving it a listen you are also giving it a meaning. I am no one and my music is all in vain until you bring it to life.
The Cloudroom House is a mutual place where we can ally and syndicate. A home for the homeless and the rootless who search for a symbiotic relationship - the symbiosis of performer and recipient. We can foster an honest and pure relationship determined by a steadfast pursuit for unity and community. You see that I'm amorphous and faceless and that's why I would like you to shape me. Only you can shape me. I want to take you on a journey as my constant companion. We could build up something here together. You can call me the house's structual engineer whereas you are its interior decorator. You decide what the Cloudroom House is all about.
Everything is driven by entelechy, an inherint and target-orientated force. The butterfly, for example, is the entelechy of the caterpillar. The song cycle also explores the piano's evolution and therefore features a couple of different keyboard instruments so that the songs do not only focus on the piano - this is what a progressive piano should be able to cope with. We will meet the piano wrapped up, mummified or transformed due to the thought of evolution.
Every song of the cycle will be released individually in regular intervals in order to satisfy an original urge to evolve from one song to the other. Proving the importance and efficiency of social networks every song will be available as a temporarily free download followed by a music video and a blog post.
I also should mention the artists I drew inspiration from - Michel Gondry, the king of minimalistic playfulness and other directors like Andreas Nilsson or Lasse Hoile. The cryptic and magical cinematography by Iamamiwhoami and the Icelandic all-round artist Gabríela Friðriksdóttir had a huge influence on me as well. Musically and conceptually I was inspired by the music of Björk's and her App-album 'Biophilia' as well as Richard Wagner's cycle 'The Ring of the Nibelung'. Wagner was vitally important for the Cloudroom House's overall structure. At last everything was completed by a couple of impressions from the book 'Noah's Ark' by German biologist and author Joachim Illies.
At last I wonder if our binding is abiding or temporary and if there will ever be a completion of the Cloudroom House. Anyway, I'd like to ask you in now. Welcome to the Cloudroom House.

WATER LILIES
Words & music: Robert van Oz. Beat programming: Greg DarkJedi
wrought in thy name
in grief and despair you lave your beautiful hair by the pale moonlight I can see your beauty, your grace, your endless pride spool and loom a fool your doom bloom getting gloom too soon way over yonder they come to devour you to eat you alive but you dive, watching the water lilies thrive
and you dive for pearls and mussels yes, I pushed you but I held you before I hustled and I sing you some sweet air while you drown reaching for the frog's tarnished crown with your nautical fellows where the water is shallow and you swim underneath closed water lilies
you break the calm, you break the light it's the 9th wave you ride on the count of 3 I will free thee 1 2 3 free
alas, there you splash in the water which is troubled, I cannot cross o'er I know thy doom is nigh so I wade out, the flood to my thighs ripples of gold merciless and cold made thee go make me missing thee so
vouchsafe me to cry one single tear for thee as you sink underneath open water lilies for that I will sing a myriad of lovesongs singing lovesongs, a myriad of lovesongs
I am thine sincerely
GHAZ
Words & music: Robert van Oz. Sound engineering: Greg DarkJedi
I said "I am my father" you said "always have been my son" I know you were feeling bothered says my dictionary with your name still on so your pretence is your only defence you used to make me laugh when my heart was sick with love of love with love
Ghaz, I wronged the right friend
the things you can't remember are the things you can't forget afraid that anyone could know you a little better you just fixed by world that was fried in in fat in your 8-day week you never used to speak disappointment is spelt with douple p - says my dictionary - disappointment is what I turned out to be
Ghaz, I wronged the right friend
I quit all that never has been and treasure what I'm remembering you still block everyone who comes near you while I play my p.i.a.n.o. you used to make me laugh when my heart was sick with love of love with love
look at me one more time before I can't recognize you anymore you wore a mask I couldn't look right through and so I wronged you
Ghaz, so I wronged you
MOTHER MY MOTHER
Words & music: Robert van Oz. Sound engineering: Greg DarkJedi
give me shelter and religion, a home and a bit of your tradition stuff me, frame me, hang me on your wall you have me forever after all
my woe is my weal I'm scared of what I think and what I feel mother, if I only could I would become good
I leave my crib, I try to take to the firmament to be smitten, to be smashed on the cobbled pavement you put me together again with your wizardry, your voodoo, your tealeaf prophecy
everything that ever wants to hurt me you come and lacerate it gorily on Wednesdays you scent my every lie teach me how to breathe and how to fly
I won't yield, I won't barter sitting in cold bath water give me a lobotomy until your tools are blunt and bloody
lately I flew and got off the wall I don't have you forever after all but your love remains here forevermore my beak wide open, I treasure your lore
